James A. Knight, Sr.

The above named is one of Henderson county’s old settlers, having lived in the county since 1849, fifty - two years.

He was born in Lounz county, Ala., Sept. 22, 1833. When he came to Texas he engaged in agricultural pursuits. In 1862 he entered the Confederate service and continued therein until the surrender in 1865. He then returned home and has continuously resided in the county.

Mr. Knight is one of our good, moral, upright, honorable citizens and no doubt enjoys the distinction he justly has of being an old settler of Henderson county.
