Cemeteries of Henderson County, Texas

In addition to those mentioned in the "New Handbook of Texas," Henderson County also raised Company E of the 13th Texas Cavalry.  The first commander was William K. Payne, who was one of the Henderson County delegates to the Secession Convention.  Company E was orgainzed at Athens and mustered into Confederate Service at Camp Shiloh on 22 Feb. 1862. This is an excellent website, and can be very helpful to those researching their CW ancestors.
