Calvary Baptist Church
East Corsicana Street

Calvary Baptist Church moved into its new building located on East Corsicana Street in January of this year, just one year after it was founded.  The church was established Jan. 13, 1964, at a temportary location on East Tyler St.  The new church building is of brick construction and includes a sanctuary with seating facilities for approximately 200 persons, as well as Sunday School meeting rooms.  The auditorium and Sunday school rooms are the first phase of the church's building program which is designed to keep pace iwth the growth of the church membership.  Last year at this time the church had 44 members.  Sixty-six person are now recorded as members of the church, an increase of 22 members during the 12-month period.  Pastor of the church is W.A. Williams.  He and his family reside at 105 Laird Lane.  Trustees of the church include F.T. Williams, Jr., W.F. Johnson and Joe Winslett.  J.N. Eaton is Sunday school superintendent.  Mrs. Ira Farmer serves as church pianist.  Miss Barbara Green serves as church treasurer.
