Ash Baptist Church

Farm Road 1616

The Ash Baptist Church which was founded in 1929, has added 11 new members during the past few months, bringing the total church membership to approximately 100.  Located on a hill over looking the road, the church is about five miles out on Farm Road 1616.  The present church building was completed in 1962 and is of brick and wood construction.  Serving as pastor is the Rev. V.P. Whitfield, who has been at the church for more than a year.  Sunday school superintendent is E.D. Hall.  Ed Everett is music director and Mrs. F.C. Owens serves as president of the women's organization.  The past year has seen a number of improvements made at the church.  A walkway to the church has been added and a gas light now stands in front of the church.  Also, a deep well has been dug to furnish water for the church building.
