Mr. Peter Grieve, the father of the unfortunate John R. Grieve,
 who shot his wife and afterwards himself, while both were laboring
 under a monomania caused by the humbugs of clairvoyance &e.,
 has ordered the following inscription to be placed over the grave of
 the victims.


To the memory of
JOHN R. GRIEVE,
age 22 years,
and
HANNAH BANKS,
his wife.
age 15 years.
Both of Zanesville, Ohio
