Kinch Adamek, 91, of Brenham, died June 3, 2007, at Gazebo Terrace
Convalescent Center in Brenham.
Mr. Adamek was born March 18, 1916, in the Wesley community, to Joe W. and
Vlasta (Baca) Adamek. He was baptized Nov. 11, 1916, at Wesley Brethren
Church and was confirmed at Park Place Lutheran Church of Houston by
Pastor David Herman. Mr. Adamek was educated at Klump and Wesley schools
and Brenham High School.
On May 12, 1940, he was married to Anita Ottmer in Caldwell by the Rev.
Henry Beseda. In Houston he was a member of Park Place Lutheran Church in
Houston. After 30 years of employment with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.
Houston Chemical Plant, Mr. Adamek retired in 1978 and moved to Brenham.
He was a lifelong member of Park Place Lutheran Church until he moved to
Brenham and became a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr.
Adamek was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years.
Mr. Adamek was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Anita
Adamek, on Sept. 14, 1998.
The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at St.
Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastors Lawrence Bade
and Kim Little-Brooks officiating. A Masonic graveside service, under the
auspices of Graham Lodge No. 20 AF&AM, followed at Prairie Lea Cemetery in
Brenham.
Honorary pallbearers were Walter Batdorf, Erwin "Buddy" Dallmeyer, Robert
Stogdill, A.W. Hodde, Charles Schulte, F.C. Schulte and William Earhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's Radio and TV
Ministry.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main
St., in Brenham.
