Comments: In about 1847, Abraham HOOVER, Jr. moved with his parents and siblings from Edwardsport, IN to Upshur Co., TX.  Hoover Cemetery is named after his parents, who were buried there in 1864. Nancy Ann DECKER HOOVER's parents and paternal grandparents were living in Upshur Co. (Harrison Co. originally) by February 15, 1839 when her father applied for and received 640 acres of land. After Abraham died, Nancy Ann DECKER HOOVER married David Harry HARPER on January 6, 1880 in Upshur Co.  They had one son--Jesse Hughes HARPER who was born March 17, 1883 in Upshur Co.  In 1902, Jesse married Elizabeth "Lizzie" GAGE in Upshur Co.
