The following birth records were copied in the fall of 1978 from Record Book A  in the Upshur County, Texas Courthouse.  The book itself is very old  and fragile.  One of the many interesting things about this book, is that of the many pages it contains, only twenty-six pages [one for each letter of the alphabet] are devoted to birth records.  The remainder of the pages are filled with information about property, lawsuits, and various other things with no ?rhyme or reason? to the way they are organized  In addition the birth index book describes these as ?delayed? birth entries.  Please note that some of the entries give the same birth date for two children of the same parents.  This would seem to indicate that these  children were twins.  However the entries for John T.  King and James W. King each bear the same date, but they were not twins.   The reader is asked to use this  abstraction as a guide only, checking the originals as is appropriate.  Please view this abstraction accordingly.
