Nutt, Judy TYLER - Services for Judy Nutt, 62, of Stone Mountain, Ga., will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Brumley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Gilmer at 4 p.m. A memorial service was held at Mountain West Church of God Saturday, December 15, 2007, in Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Nutt died December 14, 2007, at her residence. Born on July 20, 1945, in Lexington, Ky., she was a homemaker and the activities director at Holly Lake Ranch in Gilmer, and worked for Schumpert Cancer Treatment Center and Schlumberger Oil Service Co. in Shreveport. Survivors include her daughters, Sabra Johnson and K.K. Lopez; sons, David and Rowdy Nutt; mother, Keda Cross; brother, Wayne Pinkerton; and sister, Kay Pinkerton. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Gilmer under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Mrs. Nutt passed away Friday, December 14, 2007, at her home in Stone Mountain, Ga. She was born July 20, 1945, in Lexington, Ky., to Keda Cross of Midland, Texas. Judy was raised in Big Spring, Texas, where she graduated from Big Spring High School. In her younger years, Mrs. Nutt was a runway model and a First Runner Up in the Miss Texas Pageant. She moved to Houston where she married Wayne Nutt, and they eventually went back to Big Spring to begin their family. In 1974 they moved to Scotland, where Wayne worked in the oil and gas business off shore in the North Sea. He was also a well-known country music singer in the United Kingdom. The family returned to Gilmer, Texas, in 1979. Mrs. Nutt was a homemaker and the activities director at Holly Lake Ranch while living in Gilmer. After the death of her husband in 1986, she moved to Shreveport, La., to accept a position at Schumpert Cancer Treatment Center. There her responsibilities were to coor- dinate the efforts of over 100 hospice volunteers. She also worked for Schlumberger Oil Service Co. in Shreveport before moving to Stone Mountain, Georgia, to be closer to her daughters and her grandchildren before her death. She was a loving mother, grandmother and hard worker, putting other people's needs ahead of her own. She dedicated her life to her children, but her passion was her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, painting and spending time with her family. A memorial service was held at Mountain West Church of God Saturday, December 15, 2007, in Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne L. Nutt Sr.; and her granddaughter, Shelbee Dee Phillips. Mrs. Nutt is survived by a loving family including her two daughters, Sabra Johnson and husband, Chris, of Stone Mountain, Ga., and K.K. Lopez and husband, Trey, of Woodstock, Ga.; two sons, David Nutt and wife, Alison, of Diana, Texas, and Rowdy Nutt and wife, Sundee, of Flint, Texas; grandchildren, Raven Nutt, Sydnee Johnson, Mikayla Johnson, Karsen Lopez, Kanyon Wright, Hillary Nutt, Colby Nutt, Devin Nutt, Caitlynn Nutt, Chandler Nutt, Bailey Nutt and Avery Nutt; mother, Keda Cross of Midland, Texas; brother, Wayne Pinkerton and wife, Judith, of Tarzan, Texas; and sister, Kay Pinkerton of Stamford, Texas. Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Nutt, Colby Nutt, Devin Nutt, Kanyon Wright, Chris Johnson, Trey Lopez, Brent Parker, Fred Fulton and James Heard. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. today, December 17, 2007, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, TX 75703.
