Dec. 5, 1949. 4 miles south of James on Hwy [looks like 726] just inside
Upshur County line. When the car he was driving left the road and crashed
into a tree. Justice of the peace Prect. 8, Judge B. D. rogers of James
preformed inquest at seen of wreck. Injuries were both legs broken below
knees, compound on right side, left arm broken possible in 2 places, jaw
bone shattered both sides, nose split open lengthwise, lower lip cut
away, hole in top of forehead left side center, hole in lower left jaw,
possible broken neck, chest crushed, skin torn open from arms to
gerotunz. Skin torn open scrotum to epitomical line of right femoral
artery, arteriiiis useal, right corded up and down. Right femoral up and
down, hypo left foot
Blackburn and shaw of Amarillo came for body
Charges paid by above mentioned Enoch Amb. Service $50.00
Rains Talley of Longview brought body in about 8:45 a.m. 12-5-49
