DALLAS - Mary Bell Johnson, 82, of Dallas and formerly of Pittsburg, died Friday, May 11, 2007, at her residence. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with the Rev. Johnny H. King officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Charles Roney, Bobby Hughes, Alton Hughes, Damon Walker, Lee Hughes, and Kerry Roney. Honorary pallbearers are Alvis Roney, Clifton Peoples III, Howard Grant, Mark Anthony Peoples, Carold Peoples II and Patrick Peoples. Mrs. Johnson was born on April 15, 1925, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Clifton Peoples and Isabella Peoples. She was a member of Greater New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Dallas. She is survived by a daughter, Scheketar Traylor of Dallas; a son, Rickey Arnez Peoples Sr. of Dallas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Carold J. Peoples of Denver, Colo.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Johnson; her parents; eight sisters and three brothers.
