DALLAS- Elizabeth Catherine Stone Porter, 48, of Dallas and formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, May 12 at her residence. Mrs. Porter was born on Sept. 5, 1958 in Yoakum. She was the wife of Mark Allen Porter and the mother of Chelsea Gay Porter and Austin Travis Porter. She attended East Texas State University, Cypress Community College and Richmond College of Dallas. She was elected to "Who's Who in American High Schools;" active in Girl Scouts and received several Special Service Awards; a member of Rainbows in 1971-72; a member of YARC for Special Olympics; a lobbyist for the organization; organized and coached Special Olympics in 1976 and accompanied the Chapter of YARC to State in 1976. She was a model of Teen Clothing for department stores in Mount Pleasant; a writer and photographer for the Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune; a wedding consultant and a florist in Dallas. She is survived by her mother, Gloria Nell Stone of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, James L. Stone Jr of Atlanta, Ga., John Edward Stone of Green Forest, Ark., and Mark David Stone of Mount Pleasant; nieces, Marci Lyn Stone, Katie and Emily Stone of Green Forest, Ark., Nichola and Devon Stone of Atlanta, Ga.; nephew, Jeremiah Jubal Stone of Dallas; uncles and aunts of Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. James Louis Stone Sr.; and a brother, Thomas Andrew Stone.
