SAGINAW, Mich. - Arthur Smith, 72, of Saginaw, Mich. and formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, May 7, 2007, in Saginaw, Mich. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15 at Coleman Temple Church of God in Christ with Supt. Curley J. Coleman Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden Chapel Cemetery in Saginaw under the direction of Evans-Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born on July 17, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Arthur and Jadie Smith. He was retired from General Motors Corporation in Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Annie Smith of Saginaw, Mich.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Knoland of Trenton, N.J. and Anna and Al Jeffries of Saginaw, Mich.; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Smith III and Joyce Smith and Anthony and Caroline Smith, all of Saginaw, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Hattie Smith of Dallas, Elder Tommy Smith, John Smith, and Bobby Smith, all of Mount Pleasant; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Billie Minter, Ruthie and W.J. Linwood, Nona and Wilbert Rundles, and Cheryl Smith, all of Mount Pleasant; four sisters-in-law, four brothers-inlaw, three aunts, Imogene Garrett, Christine Warren and Mary C. Smith, all of Mount Pleasant; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Smith and Willie Smith; and one sister, Nina Smith.
