Am searching for info on family of William J. Tinker (born ca. 1840 in Arkansas). He is in 1870 Titus Co. Census with wife Emily E. (born ca. 1851 in IL) and one son John A(nderson) (born 22 Sep 1867, died 31 Jul 1936) Titus Co. John had several wives, one of whom was Sarah Elizabeth Crowder.

Four of his six children were married in Titus County in the 1850s-1860s: James Alexander BROOKS (1834-1877) md. Mary Elizabeth NEVILL; Jesse Van Buren BROOKS (1837-1915) md. PORTER, BOREN, WALKER, BROOKS, CLAMPETT -- Benjamin T. PORTER (c1817- 1856) settled in Red River (now Titus) County in the fall of 1842. He md/1 Rebecca BOREN (c1818-1854) and had issue: William R. (1838), Reese B. (1839), Charles T. (1841), George W. (1842), Nancy Jane (1844- 1912), Benjamin F. (1845-1918), Frances R. (1846) and James W. PORTER (1850). He md/2 Margaret S. WALKER (1831-1896) and had issue: Samuel PORTER (1856-1923). Nancy Jane PORTER md. Jesse Van Buren BROOKS, 1857 in Titus County. Samuel PORTER md. Ella CLAMPETT, 1901 in Titus County. Some of the other children may have married in Titus County, but I have no record of such. Do you? I wish to compare notes with anyone researching these lines. Thanks!

Seeking info on Levastus McKinney LEE (aka Bass LEE, Vas LEE, L. M. LEE). Born in Johnston Co., NC 1843. To McNairy Co., TN with parents ca1844, to Franklin Co., AR ca 1857. Served in Union Army, 1 ARK CAV. Later, came to TX. In Red River Co.-1900 census, Fannin Co.-1910 census. Children include Alice, Calvin, Nora, Bettie, Elizabeth, McKinnon L., Mandy, Francis M., Lowery, and Martha. Nephews William T. LEE, Monroe LEE, and Charlie C. LEE were also in northeast TX at one time or another (Mt. Vernon, Mt. Pleasant, Winnsboro areas).

Lee is my great- grandfather he had a twin sister named Martha she died in a tornado. Ed developed Scarlet Fever and was Brain damaged, Will took care of him. From What my great-grandfather said. Celia and Spencer's children: Orrin D. b. about 1848 TN, A.M. b. about 1849 TN,Samuel Leonidus b. 11 oct. 185 4 TX, K.E. Daniels b. abt. 1857 TX, Mary E. Daniels b. abt. 1859 TX, Aaron S. The Cypress Blues, Titus County, 8th Brigade, Texas State Troops was commissioned October 21, 1861. The commanding officer was Captain William L. CROSBY. My great-grandfather, Calvin KING, enlisted on June 29, 1861, at Cypress Church. Did this unit see action during the Civil War? If so, where? Researching BRUMLEY. Willis BRUMLEY, Sr.lived in Marion County, Tennessee for a time. He moved to Hardin County, Tennessee, married and had several children there. Willis then migrated to Texas. He settled in the Stout's Creek neighborhood of Hopkins County, Texas. He bought a 245 acre farm on 3 Jan 1848. Willis built a log home for his family to live in. On 8 Oct 1854, Willis sold this farm and moved to Wood County, Texas. Willis and Sarah had at least five children, others may be in Titus, Upshur, Wood, and Franklin Counties of Texas. Willis is thought to be buried in Wood County, Texas. Willis's wife was Sarah. When Sarah died, in 1857, in Wood County, Texas, her body was transported to Mt. Vernon, Texas, by a wagon and a team of oxen. The wagon spent the night at her son's home (James Barton Brumley) in the Stout's Creek neighborhood in Hopkins County, Texas. Their known children were: James Barton BRUMLEY (1822 - 1879), Malinda Jane BRUMLEY (Abt 1825 - Bef 1945), Berry BRUMLEY (Abt 1830 - Bef 1950), Nelson BRUMLEY (Abt 1834 - Bef 1954), and Willis BRUMLEY, Jr. (Abt 1837 - Bef 1957). Pleasant Franklin RIPLEY was born in Titus County in April of 1883, he was the son of Samuel & Mary Ripley. By 1900 I find them living in Arkansas and Mary is married to George NASH. What happened to Sam RIPLEY? other children were Stonewall, & Catherine Ripley. Mary maiden name - GIBBS, she had a previous marriage to William BISE. NEED ANY INFO PLEASE! Also in 1900 they had 3 children with the last name of JOHNSON living with them. Listed as nieces and nephews.
