2012 Titus County, Texas Queries

Query: I see in the 1860 Titus County census, my great, great grandfather,A.W.(Alexander White)McDonnald, is listed with his family, pg 229. It all lines up with the family history stories. But I was told he lived in Titus, TX. Is that a town that no longer exists? If so whereabouts is it in the county? And what cemetaries are near there. J.E.(James Evans) is the only child that survived from the first marriage (1850 census). I was always told that the girls died of a plague and H.W.(Houston White)died in the Civil War. I do not know where. My sister, Cydney Medford, put me onto your website.
Houston was named after Sam Houston who was good friends with A.W. and was the one who invited A.W. to come to Texas.
James Evans moved onto central then West Texas, finally settling in Comanche, TX. Retired and moved to Abilene. Died of a strangulated hernia when he was 69.
He had 5 or 6 boys (4 buried in Comanche-one my grandfather- they were all grown men with families) and 2 girls. One of the girls' husband became mayor of Abilene. I no longer have the McDonald genealogy book. My brother, Jack, does so I am a little hazy on names and dates. My grandfather J.C.(James Collie)lived most of his life in Miles, TX and San Angelo. He had 5 boys(1 died at age 2)and 2 girls. i had great uncles telling me the tales of the McDonald clan. I would love any info you can impart to me.

Query: I am looking for the marriage information of my great grandmother (Onie Ellen Jones). In 1901 she married William Tell Bugg, in 1917 she married J.A. Bower. Around 1920 she married a man named Gallender, this is the marriage that I'm trying to find information on. She was living in Titus County in 1920. I'm Looking for his name and the date/place of the marriage.

Query: I am trying to find information on my great grandmother, Mollie D Parker. She was born in Nov 1875 and died in either 1908 or 1909. She was both born and died in Texas.
She wss married to John Henry Frizzell around 1891 and had several children. I thought she died still married to my gr grandfather John Frizzell but the Frizzells don't want to talk about her. He married again in 1908 to Leatha Fields when my grandmother was around 10. I can't find a death certificate or marriage license for them or any info about her other who her parents were. If you know anything about her, please contact me asap as I'm working on my ancestry album.

Query: I am trying to locate information regarding a Rachael Tedder who is listed on the 1870 U.S. Census as the spouse of John Tedder living in Titus, TX. Racheal has a birthdate of about 1848 somewhere in TX. Her parents are not listed. I am trying to find out if Racheal Tedder is the same one as a Rachel Ealy or Ely listed on the 1850 Census at age 3 residing in Titus, TX. Her parents are listed as Henry and Sarah. There is also a Rachel L. Ealey or Ely, in the 1860 Census as age 12 living in Titus, TX with a father of Henry but no mother. Sarah died at a young age. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Query: I am looking for information on Marion Francis(Franklin,Doc) McLemore. He is listed in the 1870 census there and in subsuquent census until his death in 1920. He had 8 children John Thomas was the oldest and my grandfather. John Thomas and my father were born in Grayrock. Would be appricitive of any infomation you might provide.

Query: Two Daughters of Ambrose Ripley escaped the Ripley massacre in 1841. One daughter, Mary (Pollie) Ann married Isaac Burns and by 1860 she was married to James Clary. I have never been able to find the name of the other daughter. Can anyone help. Mary Ann's children by Isaac Burns were William B., John Ambrose and Sarah Jane. At one time Sarah Jane lived in Winnsboro. Ambrose Ripley is my gg grandfather. Glenn Hand

Query: I am looking for any information on William Walter Potts. We think he went by Walter. He had a daughter Pearl in 1904 in Titus county. What we are looking for is a possible date of death. We know his wife and kids were back in Ga. by 1910 census. Any information would be greatly appreicated.
