History of Rogers District Number 4

Have you ever heard of Catclaw,
And of old Jim Ned?
They've stood in Taylor County
Since Moses was a lad.

But after a while these little schools
Wouldn't hold many "chicks"
That came from over on the creek,
And over in "the sticks"

So after much debating
And consulting county rule,
The two districts consolidated
And built a brand new school.

It stands upon the hillside,
And is seen from far and near:
They call the school-house Rogers
For an honored pioneer.

May Rogers grow and prosper;
May her children ever be
Loyal and devoted
To this good community.
