Tax Assessment Rolls
1850 thru 1854, 1860, 1863, 1864, 1876 & 1877

The following tax lists were transcribed from the original tax rolls as preserved on microfilm roll #819 of the Tarrant Co. Tax Records (1850 Anderson through 1872 Martin) obtained by interlibrary loan form the Texas State Library at Austin. Additional information not included in these lists includes the amount and value of land owned by the tax payer, the original patentee, and the water source for that land; the number of slaves, horses, cattle, sheep owned; the value of other property owned; and poll tax.

Poll tax was collected on men aged 21 to 50.

While every effort was made to ensure accurate transcription of the above names, there is always the possibility of misinterpretation of the handwriting. If there is a question about a name, it is recommended that the original source be consulted for verification.
