Estate of Mary Logan, Deceased

 

Nuncupative will of Mary Logan. The deceased departed this life on Monday morning the 23rd of June 1856. The nuncupetant or verbal will of Mary Logan deceased late of said county and state in the following words of language in substance, to wit that the children of William and Leusa Lane [Luesa Jane?] Lynn have all her estate to be equaly divided among them.
S/ 27 June 1856 by Mary C. Bowman, Sabrina Ferrel, and Lucinda (X) Logan. Filed 10 August 1856.

Petition of Wm Lynn, by atty, for probate of the will of Mary Logan at September term 1856. Filed 19 August 1856.

Summons to Mary C. Bowman, Sabrina Ferrel, and Lucinda Logan, issued 18 September 1856, returned by sheriff unexecuted: not found. Summons reissued October 1, 1856 to witnesses to appear and give evidence in regard to probate of nuncupative will of Mary Logan executed 9 October 1856 on Lucinda Logan and Mary C. Bowman. "Mrs. Ferrell not in the county."

Bond of William Lynn, administrator; $1400. Sureties: Thomas J. Raglin (signed Raglane) and Henderson Couch. Approved 23 February 1857.

Inventory returned by Silas Estes and James Grimsley included feather beds and clothing; one side saddle; one chest. Sworn 10 April 1857 before Abraham Howard, J.P., Pct. 6. Filed 13 April 1857.
