Estate of Americus V. Johnson, Deceased

 

Petition of Stephen Terry for letters of administration on the estate of Americus V. Johnson, deceased. He died leaving no will, and "your petitioner being solicited by his nearest relatives will apply at the January term...." 15 January 1857.

Bond of Stephen Terry, admr; $2200. Sureties: Lawrence Steel and R. C. Slaughter. Approved 27 January 1857.

Inventory and appraisal returned 13 Feb. 1857 by Paul H. Tyler, Abraham Harris, and R. C. Slaughter: a double barrel gun: bay mare; one negro man named Bailey; on trunk. Total value: $1003.

Johnson and their heirs. [Note: Americus V. Johnson was son of Alfred D. and Elizabeth A. Johnson. The negro man named Bailey was included in the inventory of the estate of Alfred D. Johnson, deceased, in 1864.] Filed 31 October 1859.
