Mrs. Sarah M. Chambers

Mrs. Sarah M. Chambers, widow of the late A. J. Chambers, aged 58 years, died at the family residence on Chambers Avenue yesterday evening. She was a member of a family well known in Fort Worth, her husband having been prominent in public and business affairs here before his death a year ago. Mrs. Chambers was born in Marengo County, Ala. in 1837 and came to Texas with her parents when she was 13. They settled in Palestine where she married Col. Chambers in 1857, moving to Tarrant County in 1871. Their eight children are: M. I. Chambers of Fort Worth, Mrs. E. E. Rogers of Enon, A. J. Chambers of Fort Worth, Mrs. Perl Lazenby of Waco, Mrs. Minnie McLaughlin of St. Louis and Miss Mattie and Judge W. Chambers, who were living at home at the time of their mother's death. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and services will be held in that church today.
