Dr. Leopold Hiram Reeves, 90, died this morning in a local hospital. His contributions to medicine were innumerable. In 1953 Gov. Allan Shivers designated him to represent Texas at the First Western Hemisphere Conference of the World Medical Association in Richmond, Va. Dr. Reeves had compiled a history of the Fort Worth and Tarrant County Medical Societies. In the Preface another physician stated, "It is not likely that any person has or does know as many doctors in Texas as does Dr. Reeves."

Dr. Reeves had been a general practitioner in Fort Worth since 1921. He served as president of the Tarrant County Medical Society in 1931 and in 1939 became the 75th president of the Texas State Medical Association. In 1951, his alma mater, the University of Tennessee, presented him the "Golden T" in recognition of his community service since his graduation in 1901. In the same year he was honored by the Texas Academy of General Practice for his distinguished service to the profession during half a century.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Chattey Cowherd, and a sister, Miss Polly Harrison, both of Fort Worth. Funeral services will be at Harveson & Cole Drawing Room with burial in Mount Olivet. Members of the Tarrant County Medical Society and the Texas State Medical Association will serve as honorary pall bearers.
