                SALADO – Johnnie Lucille Alexander Whittenburg, 79, of Salado, who owned and operated Whitt’s Drive-In in Abilene with her husband from 1964-1977, died early Wednesday morning at a Temple nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene, U.S. Highway 277.
                Dr. Chris Diebel, pastor of First Christian Church in Abilene, will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
                Arrangements in Salado were made by Goodnight Funeral Home of Bartlett.
                A former schoolteacher, she had lived in Salado about four years and was a member of First Christian Church in Abilene.
                She was preceded in death by her husband, Nauflet, Jan. 13, 1977.
                Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Murrel (Anne) Thompson of Salado; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
                The family requests remembrances be mate to the National Alzheimer’s Disease Research Program.
