Johnnie A. Weatherford, 84, died Thursday, Aug, 17, 1989, at 4:05 a.m. in Lake
County Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at the Morehart Mortuary with the
Rev. Otis Richardson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Eastland Cemetery directed by Morehart Mortuary.
Born Johnnie Alma Norton Oct. 23, 1904, in Eastland County, she moved to
Breckenridge in 1933 from Eastland, where she grew up and graduated from high
school.
She married E.R. (Jack) Weatherford in Eastland June 25, 1924. He preceded her
in death Sept. 18, 1971.
She was a homemaker and an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she
was in the Women’s Missionary Society and taught the pre-school Sunday school
class for many years.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Shirley Norton of Fort
Worth; two sons, Jerry Weatherford and his wife, Virginia of San Angelo and Jim
Bob Weatherford of Breckenridge; three grandchildren, Jerry Weatherford Jr. of
Odessa, Sherry Carter and her husband, Steve of Corpus Christi and Terri Cox and
her husband, Robert of Austin; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist church or the Lake Country Manor
Nursing Home and may be left at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dale Aldridge, Paul Darnell, Dick Hill, T.S. Fuller, Gene
Kribbs and B.B. Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jodie Baker and Haskell Key.
