                G.A. “Jack” Treadway, 81, of Breckenridge died Monday afternoon in West Texas Medical Center in Abilene after having suffered a heart attack Friday morning.
                Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Melton Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Graveside services will be at Morgan Mill Cemetery at 3 p.m.
                He was born in Fannin County Oct. 17, 1901, and moved to Erath County in 1909. He married Ruth Young Oct. 6, 1923, in Morgan Mill. He moved from near Morgan Mill to Breckenridge in 1926. He had been a baker for more than 50 years before retiring in 1972.
                He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Naomi Hood of Breckenridge; a son Wilford Treadway of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Kathy O’Shields of Breckenridge, Jennifer Sacca of Lexington, Ky., Justin Treadway of Pendleton, Ind., and Jeffrey Treadway of Richmond Ky.; two great-grandsons, David Wimberley of Breckenridge and Jason Treadway of Pendleton, Ind.; and a sister, Ruby Wood of Las Cruces, N.M.
                He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby, in 1958.
                The family requests that all memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
