                Kate Bailey, 93, a longtime public school teacher, died Tuesday in Houston.
                Services were at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marc Childress officiating.
                Burial was in the Breckenridge Cemetery directed by Melton Funeral Home.
                Born in Kansas, she moved to Breckenridge in 1921.
                She attended North Texas State University in Denton, the University of Colorado in Boulder and Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton. She began her teaching career in 1919 and retired in 1959.
                She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Susanna Wesley Circle, the Carden Wesley Sunday School class, the Woman’s Club, the Teachers Retirement System of Texas and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
                As a member of the Red Cross, she was in charge of bandages in Houston.
                She was the widow of John F. Bailey. The Bailey Auditorium is named after him.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
                Memorials may be made to the John and Kate Bailey Scholarship Fund which may be left at Melton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jim Wilkerson, Jim Rominger, Chaunce Thompson, John Ed Conner, Bill Evanoff and Bill Arnot.
