Delbert Brooks

Delbert Brooks, native of Moran and son of Jim Brooks, resident of Bluebonnet Lodge, passed away in Hendrick Memorial
Hospital at 1:30 Friday. He was injured in a car accident about 11:00 that morning on the Baird-Albany highway four miles
north of Baird. His car left the road, turning over several times. Mr. Brooks, who was 62 was alone.
He was born in Moran, where he was reared. He served in the army in World War II, and was captured in the Phillippines
and was a prisoner of war 42 months. After the war and lived in New Mexico for about five years, but the remainder of his time he had made Moran his home.
He was married to Fairy Day in San Augustine June 29, 1929. Mr. Brooks was a retired welder. He was a member of the Moran Methodist Church and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
