Bruno Brooks

Moran- Bruno E Brooks, 66, of Moran a World War II veteran , died about 3 p.m.
Sunday in Shackelford County Hospital after an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Forst Methodist Church of Moranwith
the Rev. Klel Quesenberry, pastor, officiating. Personnel of Dyess Air
Force Base conducted military graveside rites. Burial was in Moran
Cemetery under the direction of Godfrey Funeral Home.
Mr Brooks was born May 10, 1914, in Moran where he was a lifelong resident.
He was a farmer. He served as a medic in the Army Air Corps during World
War II. He was one of the first prisoners captured on Bataan and one of
the last to be released.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, the IOFF Lodge, the American
Legion and the veterans of Foreign Wars
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Young of Moran and Della Latimer of Albany;
two brothers, Jack Brooks of Las Vegas, Nev. and Hubert Brooks of Springfield,
Ore/; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nephews were pallbearers.
Members of the American Legion and VFW were honorary Pallbearers.
