Linnis Brewster

Linnis Nadene Brewster, 82 died Friday, August 7, 1998 in an Abilene, Texas nursing home. She was a life-long resident Moran, Texas

and Albany, Texas, having graduated as salutatorian of the Moran High School Class of 1934.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 9, in the Albany First Baptist Church with the Revs. John Tunell and Don
Clevenger officiating. Burial was in Moran Cemetery directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.

The daughter of Ben and Jenny Pinnell, Nadine married Edward Brewster in 1934. They farmed until they moved to Albany in 1941 when Mr Brewster became deputy sheriff/tax collector . During World War II, Nadine took her husband's place in the tax office. She continued working in the county courthouse for 30 years, serving one term as county and district clerk beforing retiring n 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965

Mrs. Brewster was active in her community and church, serving as president of almost every organization in which she was a member.
She served in the PTA, DAR, Lioness Club, Bluebonnet Study Club, AARP, Historical Society, a docent for the Old Jail Air Center,
and served as worthy Matron of the Order of the easter Star six times. She was a performing member of the Fort Griffin Fandangle
for 29 years. She was an active member of the Albany First Baptist Church for 57 years, serving in many capacities, including WMU president, church clerk, and church secretary.

Pallbearers were Jeff Jones, Gene Ray Davis, Charles Brewster, Joe Bob Brewster, Roger Tonne, and keith Spites.
