SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Alva Williams 1913-2000 Funeral service for Alva Williams, former Snyder resident, is set for 10 a.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Williams, 87, died Sunday, July 22, in Edmond, Okla. Born on July 8, 1913 in Edwards County to Elizabeth and Thomas Casey, she attended Snyder schools and married Elmer (Buddy) Williams on Dec. 25, 1932 in Snyder. Mrs. Williams lived in Abilene from 1942 to 1997 and was employed by Hendrick Medical center for 30 years. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Abilene. She lived in Edmond, Okla., the past three years and attended St. Mary�s Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Williams, in 1978; her son, Charles Williams, in 1964; and a grandson. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Martha and Richard Haag of Edmond; a sister, Barbara Lane of Choudrant, La.; a brother, Mat Casey of Ballinger; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Butler of Austin and Beverly Wilson of Fort Worth, five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
