Buchanan, lifetime resident of Snyder, died Wednesday, July 19, in Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene after a lengthy illness. Service for Mr. Buchanan, 74, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral H ome Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Miller Robinson, retired Baptist minister, will officiate. Mr. Buchanan was born on Sept. 12, 1925 in Scurry County and married Helen Mae Dunning in 1945 in Sioux Falls, S.D. She died in 1968. He retired from Chevron Oil in 1972, later owning and operating Massey Ferguson Implement Co. in Snyder. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Buchanan was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jack Daniels of Rockport and Anita and Stanley Corvin of Elizabethtown, Ky.; one sister, Jewel Moore of San Angelo; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Janelle Buchanan of Snyder and Kenneth and Nita Buchanan of Eldorado, Tex.; one grandson, Jason; one step granddaughter, Debra Ann; two step grandsons, Jack Jr. and Lyndon; and four step great-grandchildren.
