B.V. Snuffer, 1830-1909. His full name was Burrell Vardeman Snuffer, born in Claiborne Co., TN. His wife, was Nancy Jane Hinds but her stone in the Camp Springs Cemetery lists her name as Mary J. Charity Emma and John Snuffer were two of their children. Charity was a teacher at the Camp Springs school and John was a post master at Camp Springs. B.V. and his wife left TN and came into Denton Co. TX prior to 1860. About 1880 they moved to Montague Co., TX and early 1900's moved to Scurry Co.
In the photo of B.V. Snuffer's gravesite, you can see a double stone directly behind his, with the surname Jones. That is the stone of William Vardeman Jones and his wife Lila. B.V. Snuffer was the uncle of W.V. Jones.
