LAYFIELD

 

Mrs. Layfield Buried Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bell Layfield, 76, of Hemphill were held at 2 p.m. Monday September 21 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill.  The Rev. Jim Turner, pastor of First Baptist Church, Hemphill, officiated. Burial was in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva.  Mrs. Layfield died at 6 p.m. Saturday at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was a Baptist.  Survivors are one son, James D. Layfield, of Vidor; three brothers, Dr. DeWitt Milam (Matthews?) of Monroe La., Frank Matthews of San Augustine and Rexie Matthews of Hemphill; one sister, Mrs. Anna B. Bloodsworth of Memphis, Tenn; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cavender, Riley Cox, D. B. Speights, Alford Smith, Carlos Boyd and J. D. Morris. (There is apparently a line missing before this last sentence that should read “Pallbearers were W. W. “Woody” Cavender…etc.)

James H. Love, 84 Rosevine Rites are Today at 2

Funeral services for James Henry Love, 84 of Rosevine, father of Miss Corrie Love, librarian at Marshal Junior High, Beaumont, will be conducted at2 p. m. Saturday in Rosevine. Love, a native of Sabine County and a retired teacher, died Friday night in Woodville after an illness of several months. Services will be conducted at the Rosevine Baptist Church by the Rev. Carroll Chadrick of Center. Burial will be at the Rosevine Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.Survivors, in addition to his daughter, include his wife, Mrs. Vivian Love of Rosevine: six sisters, Mrs. John Hyden, Jasper: Mrs. Florence McDaniel, Kirbyville; Mrs. Gilbert Conner, Hemphill; Mrs. Wesley McDaniel, Hemphill; Mrs. Evelyn Buzzart, Rusk; and one brother William Love of Hemphill. The Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine is in charge of arrangements.

James Henry Love was born 12 June 1880 in Sabine County, Texas and died 30 April 1964 in Woodville, Tyler Co., Texas. He married Vivian Hall.

Funeral services for Vivian Love, 76, of 7550 Chelsea Place will be held at 2 P. M. Sunday in Rosevine Baptist Church. Burial under direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine will be in Rosevine Cemetery. Mrs. Love Died Friday Surviving are a daughter, Corrie Love of Beaumont; three sisters, Mrs. W. S. Turner of Kirbyville, Mrs. Jack Satterwhite of Frankston and Mrs. Virgil Buckley of Bronson; and two brothers, Elray Hall of Bronson and Roland Hallof Houston.
