Travis Family Cemetery - Sabine
County, Texas - From the Sabine County Court House in Hemphill,
Texas take FM 83 East 1 block to State Hwy 87.
Go South or Right 9.8 miles to FM 2928.
Turn Left on FM 2928 and go 1.5 miles to Gateway Meadows,
then go Left or North on Gateway Meadows for 1.0 mile to Arledge
Trail. Go Right on
Arledge Trail and park on the Left.
The graves are about 250 feet north-northeast on top of the
ridge.
There are two Travis children buried at this site. Up until about 70 years ago there was a net wire fence
around these graves, but has since rusted away.
More information is needed on these burials.
