Deas-Mason-Smith Cemetery (aka Smith-Deas
Cemetery), Sabine County, Texas - From the Sabine County Court
House in Hemphill, Texas take FM 83 (Worth Street) East 1 block to
State Hwy 87. Turn South or Right on Hwy 87 South and go 5.9 miles
to FM 2342. Go Right or West on FM 2342 for 6.1 miles to a stop
sign. (This is where the state maintenance ends.) Continue
straight across and go 0.4 mile to Hyden Town Drive. Go Left on
Hyden Town Drive and go 1.0 mile to a fork. Take the Left fork and
go 0.6 mile to the cemetery. This cemetery has a chain link fence
and is well kept. These graves are kept up in an old time way;
each grave is mounded and the grass hoed away to prevent it from
growing on the graves. Additional information added in
parenthesis.
