The M-K-T Railroad Depot

Photo Circa 1930

The Missouri - Kansas - Texas Railroad

Built in the 1880's the Depot was located on High School Road in Rockwall. Primarily used as a Freight Depot, Rockwall was not a scheduled stop for any Passenger Trains, but they would stop for passengers if signaled to.

The railroad discontinued service to Rockwall in the early 1970's and the depot was abandoned. It was re-opened as a feed store in the late 1970's and remained so until the early 1980's when that business closed.

When it was announced the depot building would be demolished it was purchased by Ron Miller, DDS in the mid 1980's and the depot was moved less than a mile away to Goliad Street, between Boydstun and Ross streets, where it was renovated into a dentist office and is still used today.
