Roberts County was created in 1876 and named for Oran Milo Roberts with the county seat at Oran, later named Parnell, in the central part of the county. It was organized in 1889 and holds the distinction of being one of the most Republican counties in the country. In 1898, a vote moved the county seat to Miami in the southeast quadrant of the county where there was a railroad line.- On-Site Information
