  • Lazarine/Prado Contributed by Ginger Lazarine Johnston

The name Lazarine was originally Lazarin. My West Texas Cousin, Johnny Sanchez, and I have documented the family back to the year about 1735 with Pedro Jose Lazarin (spelled Lasarin in the transcriptions) Alamo de Parras Military Group. Johnny and my gg-grandfathers were the sons of Juan Maria Lazarin/e and Maria Josepha de la Bega (Vega).

The Lazarin/e and the Mansolo's, Chirino, Luna, Menchaca and Prados and others were Soldiers for the King of Spain during their occupation of the territories of Spains Holdings. They fought in the Spains war against England in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, also many of the rebellions during the strife against Mexican Rule. The name of the group was the Military Company of Volantes of San Carlos de Parras which headqarters were out of Vera Cruz Mexico.

The Parents of Juan Maria and siblings were:
Juan Jose Simon Lasarin b. abt 1767, m. Juana Maria Rita Rivas who was b. 1774. She is listed as (cayota) western Apache.

The information has been retrieved from the Bexar Archives in San Antonio.
