DAVIS-KING CEMETERY


Davis-King Cemetery is on private property near CR 407 south of TX 21.

This transcript was made August 2004 by Mr. Charles Brightwell. Every effort has been made to make an accurate transcription. Heavily wooded and overgrown



Many  unmarked ground sinks



One original limestone marker remains; 

one replacement marker placed by descendants inside 

iron fenced area approx. 6’ X 12”

Aged 19 yrs





Three stacked fieldstone cryts combined with slave brick. 

Mature trees have grown into margins of crypts and are 

dislocating margins of crypts.

Died Texas Jan. 1861



Wife - Mary Sartain buried King Cemetery near Woden Texas. Erected by their descendants 1993 inside wrought-iron fenced area. Many dead and living juniper (red cedar) and briars overgrown. There are many ground sinks which indicate probable graves. This site is endangered.
