North on CR 2115 from Highway 49 at Veal Switch for .8 miles. Then right on CR 4114 for .4 mile. Cemetery is on the right and marked.

Although burials predate this time, it was established as a cemetery by deed in 1875. On November 29, 1875, T A Hargiss and his wife, Martha deeded 564 acres to George C Chambers. This 564 acres located four miles east of the town of Daingerfield "save and except two (2) acres known as the Old Graveyard to hold and to have together with all and singular the rights members of Hargiss family". This recorded in the Morris County Clerk's office, Vol A, pages 115 and 116. The oldest grave is supposed to be that of "The Wagon Train Baby" buried here between 1848 and 1876 by a family traveling through Texas on Trammel's Trace. This according to Georgia Henson's, "The Trace's Secrets" in Country Faith and Fate, a publication of Northeast Texas Community College. The Day family began burying here in 1917.

This cemetery is listed in the New Cass County Cemeteries - Marietta Section, Vol 6 as Day Cemetery. There were many more rock marked graves here at one time but disappeared through mining and timber cutting. Those last two are very small stones with initials only, no dates. At the foot of these graves is a flat stone which reads: WAGON TRAIN BABY 1800s.
