Cedar Creek Pilot 6 Dec 2007 Services for MARY BETH SCROGGINS 72, of Gun Barrel City, were held Dec. 4 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel City with Rev. Scott Schaller officiating. Interment followed in the Wood Lawn Cemetery at Houston under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home. Mrs. Scroggins was born Oct. 26, 1935 in Midland and passed away Dec. 1, 2007 in Tyler. She had resided in Gun Barrel City for the past 18 years and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lert & Hattie Jewel Stringer, two brothers, Timmy Kyle Stringer and George Edwin Stringer and two sisters, Minnie Laura Stringer and Theresa Jane Dunnan. She is survived by her husband, Earl N. Scroggins of Gun Barrel City; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam Bales and husband Steve of Port Lavaca; a daughter, Paula SCROGGINS of Richardson; a son, Nelson SCROGGINS of Katy; two brothers, Charlie Stringer of Livingston and Emmett Stringer of Grants Pass, Ore.; a sister, Patsy Lewis of Turlock, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
