Midland Co., Texas - Obits: Ralph Pugh ============================================= Submitted to the Midland County, TXGenWeb by: Michelle White ============================================= RALPH PUGH Ralph Bee Pugh, 84, one of only a few remaining World War II veterans, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born December 19, 1921 to Lee and Myrtle Eggleston Pugh in Coahoma, Texas. He served in the Army from June 1942 until January 1946, with the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper and combat medic, participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and was very proud to be a World War II veteran. Ralph married Ruby Sandefer in Muleshoe, Texas on January 25, 1947. He farmed in Midland and the Tarzan community, managed Planter's Gins and from 1970 until his retirement in 1987, was employed as building maintenance engineer for Wall Towers. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby of Midland; daughter Nancy Oldham and husband Lonnie of Midland; sons, Mervin Pugh and wife Daphne of Odessa, and Tracy Pugh and wife Stacy of Midland; six grandchildren, Clayton Oldham and wife Lindy of San Angelo, Rachella James and husband, Eddie of Midland, Hilary Pugh of Odessa, Jennifer Pugh of Midland, Kayla Razo and husband, Adrian of Odessa and Ricky Pugh of Midland; three great grandchildren, Tiffany and Macy James of Midland and Colton Oldham of San Angelo; one brother, Ray Pugh of Fairborn, Ohio; two sisters, Alma McGinty of Sunnyvale, California and Shirley Thrasher of La Grange, Texas; as well as numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald; a daughter, Sandra Wilson; one brother, Gale Pugh; three sisters, Anita Smith, Leenez Reid, and Irene Smith. Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with the Reverend Jerry Berry officiating of Kelview Heights Baptist Church, assisted by Billy Raies of Christian Life Center. A visitation will be held on Tuesday night from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Ellis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. To place on-line condolences please visit www.mem.com.
