Weber Family Cemetery

The cemetery is on what originally was the homestead of Augustin Weber, a Castro colonist. In recent times, the tombstones were moved to a brushy pasture area from the original location, which has been plowed for use as a field. Richard Scott, present owner of the land (formerly owned by Roy James Tschirhart) showed the remaining tombstones to Connie Rihn on September 15, 1991.

LOCATION: The cemetery is located on the property of Richard Scott on FM Road 1343, about 6 miles southwest of Castroville (about 3/4 miles south of the railroad crossing).

NOTE: The following tombstone inscriptions were copied word for word, line for line. Tombstones identifying more than one grave are identified by a hyphen (1-2). Underlined information is relative to all graves sharing a common tombstone. FS signified footstone. A slash (/) indicates the end of a line. Information in italics (italics) represents comments or observations made by the transcriber or are from other sources as noted.

According to records of the Zion Lutheran Church at Castroville, the following persons were buried in the Weber Family Cemetery:
	DELABRELLA, J	(No. 91) Joseph DeLabrella (Del Brail), age 29 yrs., 9 mos, 11 days. Died Mar. 24, 1881. Buried - Weber's place, Francisco, Mar. 1881. Spouse Anna Weber, had one child, Born - Aug. 1851 in Galveston, died of heart attack. (Catholic farmer, Black Creek, Medina County).
	BINDER, B	(No. 94) Barbara Katharina Binder Kuppinger O. A. Heronberg, age 48 yrs, 7 mos, 16 days; Died - Francisco, Nov. 5, 1881; Buried - Francisco, Nov. 9, 1881; Rev. Pfennig (Aug. Weber place); Died of stomach trouble; 7 living children and 1 dead. Born nee Weber, Mar. 21, 1833, Wuertemberg.
	BINDER, K	(No. 58) Katharin Madg. Binder, (Lutheran), age 71 yrs., 8 mos., 10 days. Died - Francisco, Feb. 6, 1872. Spouse: widow (born Peterin) June 24, 1800. 1860 census shows that Catherine Binder, age 60, was housekeeper in the home of Augustin Weber.
	WEBER, P	(No. 56) Phillip Jacob Weber (Lutheran) 1 mo., 6 days of age. Died - Francisco Farm, Feb. 8; Buried - Father's Francisco Farm at Castroville, Feb. 1871. Parents: August and Katherina Barbara Weber.
