Abstracts of Wills

In 1983 Rena Doughty McWilliams published a book, Abstracts from Record book of Wills, Live Oak County, Texas, 1877 - 1911. There were 35 Wills and several of the Wills were probated in other than Live Oak County, some even out of state. If certified copies of the Wills and Probate Proceedings were filed in Live Oak County, then this was usually an indication that the deceased lived elsewhere, but held property in Live Oak County. Thus, the filing of these instruments insured a clear chain of title for the devisees. At the end of the abstract of the Will I have included Special Notes. Some of this information came from the Will and some from other sources, which I have indicated.
