The following has been abstracted by Rena McWilliams

"Be it remembered that on this the 15th day of April AD 1857 personally came and appeared Michael Dolan a native of Ireland who on oath says and declares that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of these United States of America and to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince potentate or state or sovereignty and particularly to the Queen of Great Brittain [sic] and Ireland of whom he is at present a subject, and that he arrived in the United States on the ___ day of Feb AD 1856."
