Coats / Coates -- Has anyone ever seen a headstone
for "Coon" Coats or Coates? If so, I would really like to know which
cemetery it is in. I think that is my husband's grandfather's grave.
If he is indeed my husband's grandfather, his real name is N. A. or Nat A.,
Nathan A., Nathaniel A. Coats. He is referred to in documents by all
of those names. It is my understanding that the grave is in Jewett or
that vacinity. Apparently the Coates moved from county to county quite
a bit so it could be in any of the surrounding counties.Thank you for your
help. He was in Brazos Co. in 1880. His sons dispersed from Milam
County to Harris Co to Madison Co. to Robertson Co. His real name was Nat.
A. Coats which he changed to Clarence Coates and went by the nickname of
"Coon" or "Koon" Martha Phillips

on the Caldwell Ranch outside of Buffalo, TX, the Graham family cemetery,
that has several confederate tombstones. The last time we were there

COSTON, H. T. -- I am looking for the burial place of
Hugh Thally Coston and wife Tabitha (Hawes) Coston. They came to Leon Co. in
1855 from North Carolina. Papers I found in the Court House at Centerville
indicate he died in January 1867 after a short illness. Records say
nothing about his wife, so speculation is that she passed before him.
The Coston's lived around Red Oak, Oakwood and the Mt. Pisgah area.

Ewing Cemetery -- If the directions to the cemetery
are correct there is a good chance that this cemetery is lost forever. Does
anyone know if anyone actually found this cemetery?
EWING, R. M.

Charles Gideon & Mary L. Ewing Fletcher were Great
Grandparents of Marcylle Jackson Brown of Centerville.
I am trying to identify (5) slaves owned by R. M. Ewing in

name, because they are with my ggg grandparents in 1860. However, I am
trying to validate the info that I have.

JONES, Ted -- I found my brother I have not seen
since 1974 in Buffalo, Leon Co., TX. I'm sure he is the right Ted Jones, the
birthdays and parents name match. He passed away in1987. I am
looking for any of his children, he fathered at least nine, maybe more.
I was very young when I last saw him, I can not remember his children or his
wife's name. He was living right outside of Fort Worth in 1974.
He also has a son named Ted if I remember correctly, he was born in late
1950's or early 1960's. Anyone know any of his children or
grandghildren? Anything would be very useful. Thank You!
