Cavett Rex Boyd – Died 20 April 2009 – Walters Funeral Home
Funeral services for Cavett Rex Boyd, age 87, of Leona are scheduled for 1:00
p.m., Thursday, April 23, 3009 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville,
Texas. Bro. Jim Crawford will officiate the service and interment will be in the
Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery in Limestone County. Walters Funeral Home in
Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on April 22, 2009 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
Cavett Rex Boyd was born on July 22, 1921 in Seale, Texas to James F. & Bessie (Goodwyn) Boyd. Cavett served in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he installed radars on planes. He later lived and worked as a cattle rancher in Robertson County for many years. On July 9, 1977, he married his wife, Mary and moved to Leona. Cavett was a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge #1291 and the Order of the Eastern Star Centerville Chapter #1002. He passed away April 20, 2009 in Madisonville, Texas. Cavett is preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Woodrow, Max, Walter & Bill Boyd and sisters, Mabel Watts & Fay Hughes.
Survivors include wife, Mary M. Boyd of Leona; step- son, Ed Mabry of Leona; step-daughter, Jo Ann Stone of Spring; sister, Kate Glover of Huntsville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special caregiver friends, Royce Keeling, Lisa Miller and Demantha King and numerous nieces and nephews.
