Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Alice M. Barnett, age 95, of Centerville are
scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Parker Cemetery in the
Flo Community of Leon County. Rev. Dean Easterling, pastor of Calvary Baptist
Church in Centerville, will officiate and burial will follow the service. There
will be a short period of visitation at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville from
8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the graveside.
Alice Barnett was born November 15, 1913 in Flo, Texas to Jack L. and Eva (Shaw) Moore. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mrs. Barnett had lived over 30 years in Centerville and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She died Saturday evening, December 20, 2008 at a nursing home in Nacogdoches. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.L. Barnett; a daughter, Jo Merle Oden; a granddaughter, Shirley Ellis; her two brothers, Edelle Moore and Alvin Moore and her sister, Mary Shadix.
Survivors include her daughter, Joy French of Nacogdoches; brother, Evan Moore; granddaughter, Jennifer Mackey and husband, David, of Nacogdoches; grandson, Mark French and wife, Amy of Colleyville; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Lauren Mackey, Madeline and Will French and Jason Ellis and his wife, Laura; great great grandchildren, Justin, Maggie and Vivian Ellis and several nieces and nephews.
