Funeral Home
Funeral services for Clara Elizabeth Alexander age 83, of Buffalo are set for 10
a.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church in Oakwood,
Texas. Rev. Jack Smith, Jr. and Rev. Billy Spivey will officiate, and interment
will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 1 PM until 8 PM Sunday, May 3, 2009 with the family present from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Elizabeth was born on December 11, 1925 in Moody, Texas to Nick Henry and Frankie Nora (McElhaney) Spivey. She lived in Oakwood most of her life. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with ranching. In the 1970’s and 1980’s she worked for Buffalo ISD in Elementery Cafeteria. She loved to cook and sew. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, R.V. Alexander; infant brother; three sisters, Rutha Mae Humphries, Irene King and Margie Nell King. She passed away in Palestine Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 30, 2009.
She is survived by two daughters, Kaye Pate and husband, Randy of the Flo Community, and Carolyn Ballard and husband, T.J. of Buffalo, two brothers, Billy Wayne Spivey of Lorena and James Robert Spivey of Pasadena; one sister, Lois Walston of Stevenville, Texas and two grandchildren, Brandy Ballard of Buffalo and Lance Lee of the Flo Community.
The pallbearers are Johnny Humphries, Royce Walston, Gary Walston, Scott King, Todd Spivey, and Joe Hughes
