Supplement A
The spiritual condition of the church is not as good as we would like to see. We
need more of the spirit, which would make all pull together. The Stewards
generally speaking do not attend the services as regular as they should.
We have been holding regular Missionary Meetings as they come to us in the Sunday
School and League.
We are just starting on a revival campaign. Have had
several of our young people reclaimed and several of our own converted.
We have two Leagues; senior and junior, both are doing good work, in most
departments.
The S. S. is taking on new life. Did not begin organizing the S.
S. until the 1st. Sunday in March. Now we have several classes thoroughly
organized. Bro. BATTLE is proving himself an excellent. This has been one of
the most difficult churches in which to organize for work I have ever served
I usually instruct the children in as many times and places as possible, have
preached an illustrated sermon to them these quarter
Have received by certificate, Frank M. WALLACE, Alice WALLACE, Mandie WALLACE and Clarence
WALLACE.
Dismissed none.

We are glad to say we are as usual in a very good condition. The Senior League
is holding regular meetings, and with the efficient officers we are sure that
there will be continued success. We feel a great need for the support of the
older members of the church. At present we have the young people working alone.
It is quite true that the League is an organization for the young people, yet
they need the support of the older members of the church. The League is doing
efficient work. They have an excellent superintendent, have a good attendance
and instructive lessons.
The Sunday School is moving along smoothly. Have had
fine attendance. Most of the classes have the best of teachers, have observed
Children’s Day. The collection was $4.50.
Have received nineteen in the Church this quarter. Ten by baptism. Ellen MATHIS, Emma MATHIS, Allie MATHIS, Alda

The league is doing nothing startling, plodding along holding regular meetings.
We have had some very fine subjects for our prayer meeting topics. We are not
reaching as many of the younger element, as we would like.
Our Sunday School is at a very low ebb just now, more so than at any time during the year. This is
due somewhat to the absence of the pastor about two months.
This much, however may be considered and that is we have a fine quality of workers, which give the
very best results to the Sunday School so if we do fall off in Nos. we have the
quality. We now have on a one month contest, which we think will place
attendance back to where it was formerly.

We have both senior and junior leagues here, but find they have no charter and
have not been paying dues. We hope to get them on a better working basis soon.
The Sunday School is doing very good work. The attendance for the last two
Sundays, I am told, has been better than for some time. We are going to
put forth an effort for a larger increase. We shall do our best to look after
and instruct the children
We have received three by certificate; Mrs. A. B. CHAPMAN, Autuen CHAPMAN, and Jimmie CHAPMAN
We have been on the ground such a short while, we are not fully acquainted with the real condition spiritually,
but will say I believe we need a real revival of religion in the Church.
The cause of missions and church extension will be looked after in due time. I would
like to add here, that the spiritual growth and development of any church
depends upon its missionary activities. To be anti-missionary in spirit and
practice is to be ante-Christian. We are trying to get our forces organized and
at work. Of course we have done very little having been here such a short while.
The prospect however looks encouraging.

The Sr. league is bearly keeping alive. They the Eva lesson also Bible study.
The juniors are doing good work. They meet every Sunday afternoon. They also use
the Eva, have a Mission study and a Bible Study. There are 20 members on roll,
all of which will lead in prayer. Our Sunday School is growing in number and
interest. Collections are increasing. Two weeks ago we had 120 present, today
111. Our aim is 150. We are trying to instruct the children.
The spiritual condition of the Church is fairly good. On Saturday night before
the 2nd Sunday in March we began a meeting. Rev. O. H. ZIMMERMAN of Bryan doing
the preaching. There were no conversions, but the Church was revived and I
believe are prepared to do better work. One young man declared his willingness
to preach the Gospel. Twenty members of the Church pledged themselves to tithe.
We have received no one into the Church during the quarter. None have been
dropped. The Woman's Missionary Society has pledged $10.00 for Missions. We
hope to be able to pay the assessment in full for missions and church
extension. We are anxious that every member to have for their watchword "go
forward". We are badly crowded in the Sunday School. We hope for the time to
soon come, we can enlarge.

Pastor's Report on Spiritual State of the Church
We have only one Sunday School on the charge. We have begun special efforts for the
enlargement of our Sunday School here. A teachers meeting was well attended last
week and this is to be continued. We hope and expect that our school will be a
vital agency for the salvation of the boys and girls.
The attendance yesterday was 87, which is setting the mark in advance
considerably. The Epworth League is not doing the bookwork, but we are making
an effort to make it go, and expect to see it move out. We are boasting the S.
S. along with our Thursday evening prayer service, and find that the two
interests go well together.
The church services are well attended. The house was fairly well filled
yesterday. We received one into the church at the evening service on profession
of faith, Jack BATTLE.
We have made plans to have a revival meeting either the last of July or first of
August, and have invited Bro. N. H. MELBERT, Pastor of Brenham to assist us.
We are confidently expecting the blessings of God upon our Church.
Sincerely
J. C. LANIER
Pastor
