The Martin Copeland Family of the Leon County Venetia and Bethesda Communities had three sons serving in the first Texas Brigades, McDonald died while in battle, Columbus suffered with diseases. He fought in many battles and was wounded. He returned to Leon County. Felix joined at the age of 16 and told his parents if Texas wouldn't accept him he would go to another southern state to be a confederate soldier. He fought in a Texas Brigade and was wounded. He returned to Leon county. |
